TCAT II - Infrared Thermography Accredited Certification (Electrical)

Overview

The use of Infrared Thermography (IRT) using measurements of surface temperature to monitor condition and diagnose faults in civil, mechanical and electrical systems has become a key activity in predictive maintenance programs for most industries.

The effectiveness of these programs depends on the capability of individuals who perform the measurements and analyse the data.

TCAT II teaches the necessary skills to perform and/or direct infrared thermography analysis using established and recognised procedures.

Internationally recognised

SVT’s TCAT II course is delivered by highly experienced category III accredited trainers and complies with International Standards including ISO 18436-1, ISO 18436-3, ISO 18436-7, ISO/IEC 17024 and ASNT SNT TC 1A. 
 
The course offers participants optional certification by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) and the Australian Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (AINDT).
 
Please note that IR Thermography ISO Category I (TCAT I) certification is a pre-requisite of this ISO Category II program unless possessing a minimum of five years verifiable experience in IR Thermography. If in doubt, please enquire.

  • Apply IRT theory and techniques, including measurement and interpretation of results
  • Report on condition, recommend corrective action and evaluate effectiveness of repairs
  • Provide technical direction for personnel at or below Category 2
  • Supervise and instruct all Category 1 duties
  • Establish IRT programs, acceptance and severity criteria for new/in-service systems
  • Recommend alternative CM technologies
