Overview

Vibration analysis enables the early diagnosis of faults in machinery and is a critical activity in predictive maintenance programs.

VCAT III teaches the necessary skills to design, direct and establish routine condition monitoring programmes and non-routine investigations for the purpose of fault diagnosis.

VCAT III teaches in depth principles and techniques of machinery vibration analysis to make initial diagnosis of suspected faults beyond the range of commonly encountered issues, evaluate alarm sets, write working procedures and specify vibration acceptance testing procedures.

Specification of appropriate vibration instrumentation hardware, software and processing for portable and permanently installed surveillance systems, and equipment protection systems.

Internationally recognised

Wood's VCAT III course complies with International Standards ISO 18436-2 and ISO 18436-3 and offers participants optional certification by the Vibration Institute.

5 days training, including optional 4 hour certification exam.

  • Initiate and validate machinery corrective actions, including two-plane rigid rotor balancing.
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction for category 1 and 2 personnel.
